Today!
Let's let fly with some fantastical Manga panels! (and really, any other kind of comic panels that say "something") What is something, exactly? It can be anything really---something can be anything---that's the kind of statement that'll get you in all kinds of trouble. It goes round and round, caves in on itself, orders a large cheese pizza and then plays video games until September. Anyway...here's a cool panel I got lost in for an hour earlier today.

And there it is. Ok, it's not really a panel, technically---but isn't it a beauty to behold? It's from Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo which I've got no shortage of love for (I recommend highly the 6 volume 'phonebook' editions, released by Dark Horse).
Otomo's attention to architectural detail is what gets me every time. What do you think?

@jmcleod- Here's a link to a larger version: http://otomo.free.fr/259.htm Are you talking about the Anime adaptation of Akira? If you're talking about the live action version, last I heard, it was still moving forward. They are complete fiction...I hope, else we're in a load of trouble :)

Thanks for the link, I can see it more clearly now. Yes, I was talking about the live action Akira. So the movies are real but the story isn't. Have I got that right? :P

Hahaha, yeah, the movies are real---the story feels very real because of Otomo's vivid artwork.

Hey MorganJ, what do you know about the Akira movies? Are they fact or fiction? Who's going to be in them? I'd like to be able to click on this image to make it bigger to see the detail.
