Okay, submitted the very basic basics of my memoir, Traveller, but am now off out of town for a few days, during which time I'll figure out the script. Should be up this weekend. On a totally unrelated note, compared to the little birds that hang out at my bird feeder, crows look like HUGE MONSTERS when they pay a visit!!

Are crows and ravens the same nasty birdie? When they line up on the telephone wire I half expect it to snap from the weight of them.

Crows and ravens are different birds. Very different.

They're part of the same genus, I believe, not really that different in the big scheme of things. Plus, for better or worse, a lot of people just refer to all birds in the genus Corvus as crows. However, I'd wager the monster birds MTD and TK are seeing are Common Ravens, not American Crows.

I'm a fan of both ravens and crows, but these are the garden variety crows. Just that next to a chickadee, they are HUGE!! Ravens are even more massive... but I've only seen a few of those.

Mine are just your garden variety blackbird (crows, ravens I don't know) but they are big compared to the chickadees and finches that we see around our feeder.

They don't look like HUGE MONSTERS, they are HUGE MONSTERS! And strangely, the crows leave our bird feeder alone.
